Director of Operations and Programming – Ontario 
CONDITIONS Permanent Position, Full time: 37.5hrs/ week

Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations (Head Office), and collaborating with senior leadership of all major departments, the Director of Operations and Programming for Ontario leads the team of Ontario management to promote and develop Youth Fusion programming across the province. This position requires a strong understanding of the Ontario education system, relationship building with all partnered school boards and post-secondary institutions, comfort with management of a provincial team, and strategic planning to be done in collaboration with the head office team. 




  • Maintain a regional team in our three major regions; Toronto, Thunder Bay, and Ottawa 
  • Support the regional team in the maintenance of their teams of project coordinators, including setting communication schedules, facilitating relationships with school staff teams, and program logistics 
  • Collaborate with all operations teams across Quebec, New Brunswick and France to maintain consistent deliverables and the annual operations timeline 
  • Collaborate with all key departments in head office relevant to the operations deliverables, including partnerships, mentoring, program managementhuman resources, finance, Indigenous programming, and senior leadership 
  • Collaborate with the Ontario Partnerships Manager and head office to develop a provincial budget and list of existing and potential funders and in-kind partnerships that serve the Ontario program portfolio 
  • Collaborate with the First Nations and Inuit programming team to develop local community partnerships for program placement and possible funding opportunities to create long-term sustainability  
  • Collaborate with the events management team to prepare for and run the annual year-end events for youth in Ontario programming 

Educational Relationships 

  • Cultivate and maintain school board relationships for Youth Fusion programming, including anglophone, francophone, catholic and public schools 
  • Familiar with the legal and administrative components of partnerships with school boards, including contract agreements, financial procedure, privacy laws, etc. 
  • Have strong working knowledge of the K-12 Ontario curriculum for program integration 
  • Leading resource for school-level relationship development, in support of the regional program management team 
  • Have strong working knowledge of all teachers unions and their impact on Youth Fusion programming 
  • Maintain relationships with post-secondary institution partners for the recruitment of project coordinators, promotion of Youth Fusion, field trip opportunities, and local event site options 
  • Cultivate and maintain Ontario government ministry relationships and local municipalities in collaboration with the Ontario Partnerships Manager 
  • Promote and pitch Youth Fusion programming to existing and potential partners in educational or supporting industry fields 

Human Resources 

  • In collaboration with the Director of Human Resources, recruit, interview, and train regional team for Ontario 
  • In collaboration with the Human Resources team and the regional program management team, recruit, interview, and train project coordinators to work in schools 
  • Maintain working knowledge of the Ontario labour laws, employment policies, and provincial legislation that impact our regional and provincial staff 
  • Update and maintain employee files for Ontario team 

Strategic Growth and Development Planning 

  • In collaboration with the respective team members, prepare and publish mid-year and annual reports for Ontario programming 
  • In collaboration with head office, prepare growth projections and budgetary goals that allow for provincial development across the regions of Ontario 
  • In collaboration with provincial team members, identify strategic partnerships to cultivate programming in targeted regions 




  • University degree in management, education, social innovation, or related field 


  • Experience in education management 
  • Experience in human resources management 
  • Experience in charity or non-profit management 

Knowledge and skills required: 

  • Awareness of school perseverance needs 
  • Time and priority management 
  • Resourcefulness, capacity for autonomy and initiative 
  • Ability to negotiate and represent the organization with major partners 


  • French and English spoken and written 

Computer Skills: 

  • Microsoft Office Suite
