Under the authority of the Senior Director—Operations, the Program Manager of Youth Fusion will see to the implementation of projects in robotics. He will work with the Youth Fusion team to coordinate the operations and to contribute to the development of its program.

The Program Manager—Robotics will have the following responsibilities:

  • Supervise the project coordinators (assist with hiring and training, conduct regular follow-up to ensure that the objectives are met, conduct performance evaluation, approve time sheets, etc.);
  • Organize regular meetings with the project coordinators to identify issues and best practices, and ensure effective information sharing;
  • Show initiative, creativity and autonomy, in order to respond effectively to unexpected requests;
  • Supervise the writing of midterm and final coordinators’ reports on projects;
  • Coordinate the mailing and compilation of evaluation questionnaires for our projects, and collaborate on evaluation projects as required;
  • Create and maintain partnerships with the industry;
  • Monitor budgets for all projects;
  • Develop training related to the program to be given to the coordinators;
  • Refer to and integrate the program’s pedagogical platforms with the coordinators;
  • Collaborate in the development of new pedagogical platforms and contribute to their implementation;
  • Provide ongoing feedback to the Senior Director of Operations;
  • Travel regularly to schools to follow up with coordinators, teachers and principals.

The Project Manager—Robotics will also be in charge of various activities, other than the management, related to his specialty during the year:

  • Work closely with Robotics FIRST Quebec to align with the organization’s strategic direction in program development and delivery;
  • Ensure that schools are duly registered in the different leagues by respecting the requirements of FIRST;
  • Take ownership of FIRST’s programs, resources, platforms, mission and vision;
  • Keep track of robotics equipment inventory (Spike primes, EV3 and WeDo 2.0 packages);
  • Collaborate with the Director of FIRST LEGO League for the organization and event management of the different leagues.





  • University degree or equivalent training in computer science, engineering, or other relevant field



  • Experience in project management
  • Relevant experience in the education field (asset)
  • Knowledge of school perseverance environment (asset)



  • Human resources management
  • Effective time and priority management
  • Resourcefulness, ability to be autonomous and to take initiative
  • Ease in representing the organization to school principals



  • French spoken and written
  • English spoken and written



  • Office Suite
  • Knowledge of at least one programming language (C++, Python…)
