Your role will be to spur tangible skills in your students, by exposing them to the day-to-day reality of running a business in a field they are passionate about. Through make-believe companies (complete with business plan) or real companies (within their school or community), the students are placed in an environment prone to fostering added value to their endeavours. What’s more, they learn about working effectively and in an organized manner as a team, taking initiative, drawing on their creativity, and nurturing their decision-making skills.

DESCRIPTION

  • Having the students benefit from your expertise by putting forward projects that are integrative, stimulating and wide-ranging;
  • Working closely with the school’s teachers and administrators, and Youth Fusion officials, in order to maximize the project’s impact and awareness within the school;
  • Maintaining a professional relationship with the school (diligent attendance, communications, adherence to the culture and rules of the school environment, etc.);
  • Taking initiative, being creative and a self-starter, in order to effectively contribute to the project’s execution and success;
  • Attending team and progress meetings;
  • Supervising the students and looking after their safety;
  • When needed, representing Youth Fusion, the sponsoring university or the project itself before our partners;
  • Drafting the appropriate reports (midway progress and final reports) as scheduled.

 REQUIREMENTS

Academic

  • Currently pursuing a university education in a field related to business, management, administration or any other related field

Experience

  • Experience working and interacting with elementary school students and teenagers
  • Knowledge of market research, business plan, business startup, board

 Will be considered as asset

  • Any experience working with children with learning or behavioural difficulties
  • Volunteer work or any other tangible experience working with youth (day or vacation camps, tutoring, etc.)
  • Must have a strong desire to be a role model for the school’s students, and act as an agent of social change

  • Spoken and written English (some English schools will be participating in the program)
