PROJECT COORDINATOR – ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN – NEW BRUNSWICK

s a Youth Fusion Environmental Design Project Coordinator your primary role is to encourage elementary, middle, and/or high school youth to develop greater conceptual understanding and fluency in environmental design and sustainability. In close collaboration with teachers, environmental design projects are directly integrated into classrooms to expand student understandings of the environment in which they live and to encourage young people to find plausible solutions to address social and environmental concerns. Through workshops and interactive field trips, project coordinators shepherd students through various stages of managing and implementing a design project, from ideation to presentation. Students create an environmental design project that is a legacy for both their school and their neighborhood. To do so, students complete an environmental analysis, public consultation sessions, computer-generated or hand-made 2D and 3D drawings, construct scalable models, and utilize photo portfolios that will ultimately lead to the construction of the project.
