As a Youth Fusion Video Game Design Project Coordinator your primary role is to introduce middle and high school youth to the entire process of developing and promoting a video game. In close collaboration with teachers, you will lead weekly integrated experiential classroom workshops that are designed to enhance learning outcomes, student involvement, and collaboration. This program is supported by our exclusive partner Ubisoft, which offers various technical training and mentorship opportunities throughout the year. Each project is paired with a Ubisoft mentor, which visits the school at various times during the year and provides feedback. Your role is to guide students through the ideation development, prototyping, production, postproduction, and marketing of a video game. By the end of the year, students are expected to have expanded competencies in teamwork, industry techniques, and knowledge pertaining to the video game design industry.



  • Part-time fixed contract: up to 8 hours per week, per project.
  • Possibility for more than one project.
  • Salary: $14.50 per hour.
  • From September of the current year to June of the following year.
  • Location: Fredericton, New Brunswick.
  • Possibility of contract renewal.
  • Flexible and regular schedule based on availability of coordinator and school site.



  • To show youth how to use vocabulary and knowledge linked to video game design.
  • Helping participants develop an analytical and critical view of video gaming.
  • Supporting youth through all steps of the development and promotion of a video game.
  • Creating and leading activities that focus on teaching technological skills, idea development, project pitching, marketing, project-management, and playtesting.
  • Demonstrate how to export the final game from the engine platform.



  • Having students benefit from your expertise by encouraging projects that are integrative, stimulating, and diverse.
  • Working closely with teachers, administrators, as well as Youth Fusion officials, to maximize project impacts and awareness within the school.
  • Maintaining a professional relationship with schools (diligent attendance, communications, adherence to the culture and rules of the school environment, etc.)
  • Taking initiative, being creative and a self-starter, to effectively contribute to a project’s execution and success.
  • Attending team and progress meetings.
  • Supervising students and looking after their safety and well-being.
  • When needed, representing Youth Fusion, the sponsoring post-secondary institution, or the project itself before our partners.
  • Drafting the appropriate reports (midway progress and final reports) as scheduled.
  • Prepare for and participate in the year-end events to showcase student successes.




Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a post-secondary degree in a field related to video game design, digital art, or emerging technology.



  • Experience working and interacting with youth.
  • Experience with a minimum of two (2) of the following:
    a. Basic programming skills.
    b. Game or level design skills.
    c. Project management experience.
    d. Illustration and animation skills.
    e. Audio design or musical composition skills.


Will be considered as an asset

  • Knowledge of Construct 2 or 3.
  • Pixel Art design skills.
  • Experience working with children with learning or behavioural difficulties.
  • Volunteer work and experience working with youth (day or vacation camps, tutoring, etc).
  • Ability to organize and facilitate activities.
  • Must have a strong desire to be a role model for young people and act as an agent of social change.



  • Strong spoken and written abilities in English. Although not essential, abilities in additional languages is considered an asset.


Computer Skills

  • Office Suite;
  • Adobe Premiere Pro or equivalent;
  • Gimp or equivalent.
