WELCOME TO OUR FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS RELATED TO COVID-19

Do not hesitate to write to us at projets@fusionjeunesse.org if any questions remain unanswered

What does Youth Fusion’s new offer consist of ?

In order to adapt to our new reality, Youth Fusion will offer, as soon as this fall, a proposition for a new formula for the projects they offer  in-person, virtually, in a hybrid mode.

For this formula, all of Youth Fusion’s pedagogical programs (in arts, science and engineering, design, leadership and entrepreneurship) were re-thought so they could work as well virtually as they do in person. To do this, we have developed a new interactive platform which allows us to carry out our activities remotely, synchronously and asynchronously.

The students will have the chance to follow fascinating and engaging programs, whether they are in class or outside !

In the case of a second wave of COVID-19, will your team be able to continue activities virtually ?

Absolutely ! This year, we have revisited all of our programs to adjust to all the possible scenarios. Activities will be carried out in person or remotely even if schools need to close, ensuring a continuous accompaniment to students and teachers despite the pandemic.

Our priority is to adapt to teachers’ reality all while concentrating our energy on our fundamental mission: encouraging youth’s academic success.

Finally, all the coordinators who will be leading the workshops receive a technopedagogical training to maintain a high engagement from the students and encourage interactions.

How will your projects encourage academic perseverance from a distance ?

Since we offer projects in fields that youth are passionate about, and since we will be maintaining remote follow-ups and mentorship, students will remain engaged and continue to be intrigued by these projects.

In fact, all of our coordinators will have received a technopedagogical training beforehand to maintain a high level of engagement and encourage interactions. Students will want to continue pushing themselves and keep going on their academic journey.

Moreover, asynchronous activities will also be offered via our online learning platform; this will allow students to further their knowledge beyond the activities led by the coordinators. The goal is to strengthen the bond with the student as well as their sense of belonging to the project and to the school.

How will teachers be able to follow up on acquired skills during projects if it becomes necessary to go back home ?

We will use the tools available to us as best as we can. For instance, with the platform made available to the academic world, teachers will be able to create quizzes, interactive games, evaluations, and more. This way, teachers will be able to follow students’ progress in collaboration with the project coordinators. Our coordinators will be able to join and invest themselves fully and actively with the students. The coordinators will then be able to do specific follow-ups with the teachers regarding the skills acquired by the students.

For the projects offered in person, can you guarantee that current sanitary norms will be respected ?

Absolutely ! Indeed, each of our employees intervening in schools receives training before the beginning of their intervention. First, the governmental norms applicable to our organization are included in the 2020 training. This program will also be adapted depending on the conditions specific to each region and each student base. Moreover, coordinators will be equipped with the necessary supplies (mask and gloves) when they visit schools. They will also have to complete an online form before each trip to schools, with questions on their travels and the possible apparition of symptoms. Finally, a protocol was set up so that the norms are respected even during extracurricular activities or programs that require a lot of supplies. These supplies will be rigorously disinfected according to an established schedule.

I am still not sure whether I will take part in a project. Can I register later ?

Over a hundred schools have already booked their activities for 2020-21. There is still time to do it via our revised and improved project request platform. There, you will find the complete description of all our programs, among other things.

Please respect the deadlines indicated in the general FAQ. After this date, we will count the requests we have received and check if we have the necessary budget to implement all the requested projects and/or if we still have spaces available to implement more projects. It is therefore highly suggested to send your request sooner rather than later.
