    Project coordinator in Art Installation

    Would you like to pass on your passion for APPLIED ARTS and/or DIGITAL creation to youth ? 

    Become a PROJECT COORDINATOR in Art Installation for YOUTH FUSION ! 

    Description

    While collaborating with the teaching teams, you will develop and lead weekly activities in class (elementary and/or high school) related to the world of Art Installation. You will lead the youth in creating a collective art installation made up of physical and digital elements related to a theme. This installation will be presented at an end-of-project event. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Introduce youth to contemporary art practices, digital creation tools, eco-responsible practices and art installations; 
    • Accompany and assist students through all the steps and tasks involved in creating the art installation and its deployment;
    • Support students in promoting their art installation. 

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Ongoing/completed university program in applied arts, digital creation or intermedia OR equivalent experience; 
    • Knowledge of one or more of these techniques: Recyclart (e.g., making recycled paper, reusing materials), ceramics, textile design, scale models, 3D printing, photogrammetry, stop-motion animation, VJing, mapping, projection, digital photography, digital image editing, graphic design, website creation (without coding), video creation and editing, interactive or immersive installation, 3D modelling, audio creation and editing, kinetic programming, Arduino, Raspberry Pi or other; 
    • Spoken and written French.

    Will be considered as assets: 

    • Experience in project management or arts, event organization; 
    • Any experience with youth with learning or behavioural disabilities 
    • Any other experience working/volunteering with youth (e.g., day camps, youth centres); 
    • Desire to be a role model for youth and act as an agent of social change;
    • Spoken and written English (The Youth Fusion and Robotique FIRST Québec organizations work with its Canadian and international partners in English. In this sense, a functional knowledge of English is desirable). 

    THE ADVANTAGES

    • Contract from September 2024 to June 2025 with possibility of renewal. 
    • In schools in the Capitale-Nationale and/or Chaudière-Appalaches 
    • $20/h
