PROJECT COORDINATOR – ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE -MONTREAL

Your role will be to introduce students in Secondary 3 to 5 to the technological and social notions of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Through weekly activities, you will address ethical issues related to AI and will guide students in learning simplified programming tools that can emulate machine learning processes, in developing dynamic behaviors and in the training of algorithms using artificial neural networks. At the end of the project, student will must have acquired technical skills and general knowledge of AI and entrepreneurship. The workshops will take place mainly during class hours and extracurricular time, in close collaboration with the teachers.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Showing youth how to use the vocabulary related to artificial intelligence;
- Support teams through their use of simplified programming tools;
- Accompany students through all stages of creating a business plan;
- Manage activities related to ethical issues related to AI, the mechanisms of AI functioning and the potential applications of AI in the industry and in the society.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Having the students benefit from your expertise by putting forward projects that are integrative, stimulating and diverse;
- Working closely with the school’s teachers and administrators, and Youth Fusion officials, in order to maximize the project’s impact and awareness within the school;
- Maintaining a professional relationship with the school (diligent attendance, communications, adherence to the culture and rules of the school environment, etc.);
- Taking initiative, being creative and a self-starter, in order to effectively contribute to the project’s execution and success;
- Attending team and progress meetings;
- Supervising the students and looking after their safety;
- When needed, representing Youth Fusion, the sponsoring post-secondary institution or the project itself before our partners;
- Drafting the appropriate reports (midway progress and final reports) as scheduled;
- Prepare for and participate in the year-end events to showcase the students’ success.
Academic
- Collegial or university program in progress or completed, related to engineering, science and technology, or any other related field.
Experience
- Work experience and skills with youth;
- Good knowledge of AI concepts and applications;
- Experience with at least one programming language (JavaScript, C ++, Python, etc.).
Will be considered as an asset
- Entrepreneurship knowledge business plan, marketing, market research, financial plan)
- Any experience working with children with learning or behavioural difficulties;
- Volunteer work or any other tangible experience working with youth (day or vacation camps, tutoring, etc.);
- Ability to organize and facilitate activities;
- Must have a strong desire to be a role model for the school’s students, and act as an agent of social change.
Language(s)
- Spoken and written English;
- Spoken and written French (an asset, as some schools are French speaking).
Software
- Any software that allows for the creation of a program or AI system that is accessible for young students with no prior programming knowledge;
- Office Suite.
