PROJECT COORDINATOR – MEDIA PRODUCTION-MONTREAL

Your role will be to animate activities and support elementary students (from grade 3 to grade 6) in the exploration of the media world such as photography, cinema (fiction, documentary, animation) and/or journalism. You will work with the teacher to integrate various audiovisual activities into the classroom. The workshops will take place mainly in class, in close collaboration with the teachers. Students will be able to create media creations on various themes by combining sound and image designs.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- To teach students how to use filming equipment, rules related to photographic composition, screenwriting, sound recording, storytelling, interviews, sets, etc.;
- Help students complete all the steps involved in creating several projects related to these various audiovisual mediums;
- Create and animate activities aimed at stimulating and improving the progression of learning while developing the knowledge of the media world.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Having the students benefit from your expertise by putting forward projects that are integrative, stimulating and diverse;
- Working closely with the school’s teachers and administrators, and Youth Fusion officials, in order to maximize the project’s impact and awareness within the school;
- Maintaining a professional relationship with the school (diligent attendance, communications, adherence to the culture and rules of the school environment, etc.);
- Taking initiative, being creative and a self-starter, in order to effectively contribute to the project’s execution and success;
- Attending team and progress meetings;
- Supervising the students and looking after their safety;
- When needed, representing Youth Fusion, the sponsoring post-secondary institution or the project itself before our partners;
- Drafting the appropriate reports (midway progress and final reports) as scheduled;
- Prepare for and participate in the year-end events to showcase the students’ success.
Academic
- Currently pursuing a collegial or university education in a field related to film and/or television, or another program that might be related.
Experience
- Work experience and ability to work with youth under the age of 12;
- Experience using film equipment;
- Knowledge of writing scripts, making videos (animation, fiction, documentary, reportage) and editing.
Will be considered as an asset
- Any experience working with children with learning or behavioural difficulties;
- Volunteer work or any other tangible experience working with youth (day or vacation camps, tutoring, etc.);
- Ability to organize and facilitate activities;
- Must have a strong desire to be a role model for the school’s students, and act as an agent of social change
Language(s)
- Spoken and written English;
- Spoken and written French (an asset, as some schools are French speaking).
Computer
- Office Suite;
- Premiere Pro (be able to adapt to various programs according to the needs of the schools).
