As part of its 10th anniversary, Youth Fusion is announcing the first Festival Education of the Future, a large-scale event that will bring together 10,000 young people from all over Québec, from Kujjuuarapik to Québec City, through Amos and Montréal-Nord, who participate in the organization’s 13 programs.
For 4 days, the participants will participate in several activities related to their field and will present their work in kiosks open to participants and to various renowned judges. Opening and closing galas will be held each day where students will receive awards and honours. There will also be a fashion show on Tuesday featuring the students’ creations.
« It is absolutely inspiring to bring together in one big Festival thousands of students from all regions of Quebec to share the projects carried out during the year, whether in fashion design, video game creation, environmental design, the arts or entrepreneurship. We are also looking forward to unveiling our new artificial intelligence program. It will certainly be very formative for all participants ! » said Gabriel Bran Lopez, Founding President of Youth Fusion.
This Festival is a unique event in the field of experiential learning and promotes perseverance at school, with the aim of reducing drop-out rates. Indeed, the model developed by Youth Fusion 10 years ago is producing results that are also of interest to other countries.
This event will also be an opportunity to honour the main partners who have believed in Youth Fusion from the very beginning. A special ceremony will be held on Tuesday, May 15. In 2008, a pilot project was developed with 7 coordinators from Concordia University in two Montreal schools. Now, in 2018, the organization works in more than 250 schools in Quebec and Ontario, employs 240 university coordinators, mobilizes more than 20 universities, 50 businesses, 30 school boards and works with 15,000 students on a daily basis !
Please note that the Festival Éducation du Futur is a private event for school boards, parents, teachers and coordinators, by invitation only.
